The best turmeric drink recipes for summer!

Now that the heat is here (at least for the Southern Hemisphere), we wanted to share with you the best ways to use turmeric everyday, in delicious, easy to make drinks and snacks. 

THE GOLDEN SMOOTHIE

Smoothies are such an excellent way to start the day, or as a wonderful snack on the go. You can really add anything to smoothie and the best thing about that is that you get the chance to cram them full of nutrients. We recommend trying to include a good source of protein (like the hemp protein found in our blend), lots of fibre (found in things like nuts and seeds), vitamins and minerals (try adding leafy greens like spinach and kale), healthy fats (like coconut, banana or avocado), liquid for hydration and of course, fruit for taste. We would suggest steering clear of adding sugar or anything high in natural sugars (one cup of fruit is plenty, a tiny bit of honey or maple syrup is okay too). Below is our favourite, easy smoothie suggestion, using our perfectly balanced, nutritious turmeric and hemp blend, but be sure to play around and experiment with your own combinations, we're sure you'll have fun. To make a smoothie bowl, simply add less liquid and pour into a bowl then top with your favourite toppings.

  1. Blend all ingredients together and serve. 
  2. Top with favourite chopped fruits, nuts and seeds (even cacao nibs or peanut butter)
  3. Enjoy!

ICED GOLDEN TEA

  1. Steep tea bag in water
  2. strain and add sweetener
  3. pour over ice
  4. Sqeeze in lemon or orange juice
  5. Serve with mint leaves
  6. Enjoy!

ICED TURMERIC LATTE

Recipe:

Method:

  1. Dissolve Golden Grind turmeric blend of choice in some boiling water.
  2. Add sweetener to melted mix.  
  3. Pour over Ice in your cup.
  4. Top up with milk.
  5. Enjoy!

ICED TURMERIC BULLETPROOF

An amazing breakfast that gets your brain FIRED UP for the day ahead. It takes no time to make and you can drink it on your way to work as a breakfast replacement. It is full of anti-ageing ingredients like collagen which helps to boost cell regeneration and reduce wrinkles, plus the golden grind blend is curated to reduce inflammation throughout the body. Oh and did we mention is tastes DELICIOUS? 

Recipe:

  • 2-3 Tbsp high quality organic coffee or decaf coffee
  • 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (or any collagen)
  • 2 heaped Tbsp coconut butter (also called coconut paste) 
  • 1-2 Tbsp Brain Octane oil  
  • 1 tsp Golden Grind Turmeric Latte Blend of choice (shop here)
  • 1 large cup of ice cubes 

Method:

  1. Brew the coffee 
  2. In a high powered blender add the collagen, coconut butter, brain octane oil and golden grind turmeric blend.
  3. Pour over about 300ml of boiling water (or more if you want a really big latte).
  4. Once the coffee has brewed, add the coffee to the blender and blend on high for 10-15 seconds. 
  5. Pour over the cup of ice 
  6. Enjoy!
